What this site covers

Austin Festival Calendar describes the shape of the city's year: the big marquee events like SXSW and ACL, the long outdoor shoulder seasons, the free park concerts, the holiday lights, and the small, strange, only-in-Austin gatherings in between. We explain what each season brings and how to enjoy a festival day without the headaches — then point you to each event's official source for exact dates, lineups and tickets.

What we don't do

We don't rank events, crown winners, or republish anyone else's listings database. There's no "best of" and no "top ten" here. We describe the scene in our own words and link out to the organizers and official calendars for the details, which is the honest way to be useful.

Who publishes this

This site is part of the WholeTech Network, an independent Austin, Texas publisher that has been building websites since 1996, starting with the Spring BBS — one of Austin's first online communities. Today the network spans a family of Austin sites and more than a hundred others, all running on a single server and built Agents First.

Every photo on this site comes from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons or public-domain licenses, with the photographer and license credited on the page and in the footer. We never scrape or use stock imagery under false terms.
